"Blue Team Midwife pathway"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Community Maternity Unit

(as a service user),

As part of my pregnancy, I was able to receive home visits for midwife appointments from Emma before my son was born which provided continuity of midwife & flexibility as the appointments at the doctor’s surgery were only on a Monday.

During & after labour, the care of myself and my son at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley was fantastic from the team in the Special Care Baby unit & Elizabeth the midwife who delivered him. She went on to complete home visits to ensure continuity of care as my named midwife Emma, who was also fantastic was on annual leave following my son’s birth. I cannot put into words how much Elizabeth supported us during labour & with breastfeeding. She is someone who went above & beyond & we really appreciate what she did for our family. The continuity & awareness of how important relationships with patients are, really added to our experience.
