"My Terminal Illness Mesothelioma lung cancer"

About: Kilbryde Hospice / Complementary Therapy Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Palliative Care

(as the patient),

When I was diagnosed with Mesothelioma I was devastated and a few tears. It took a while to get my head around the fact that I was going to die but thanks to my wife son daughter and grandchildren they have helped me to move forward. Big thank you to Kilbride Hospice for all the support and kindness followed with the complimentary Therapy  which have helped me greatly in coming to terms with my illness they are so relaxing. Kilbride Hospice offered me a place to be me. Sheena and all her team have been wonderful coming to my home taking calls from my family looking for advice nothing is to much trouble for Sheena.

Thank You

Sheena Janice Vicky Louise Pauline 😘

Dear Brice,

Thank you for your kind words about the support you have received at what must be a difficult and challenging time. Working with the Respiratory Teams and the Hospices in and around Glasgow, I know they try hard to deliver a high level of care - I will pass on your comments to both teams as I am sure they will be much appreciated.

If there is anything else we can do to help, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Alistair

Dear Brice

Thank you for taking the time to post your story on Care Opinion. As Clinical Services Manager at Kilbryde Hospice it is very reassuring to hear of the care you have received at home from our CLan team Sine ( Sheena), Janice, Vicky, Louise and Pauline to help you come to terms with your illness. To hear that they have helped you to be " you" again is wonderful news. To know that they are on the other end of phone must be reassuring for you and the family.

I will pass your very kind words onto Sine and the team and to all other staff and volunteers who work behind the scenes to deliver that service. This will give them a boost. Thank you again.

If I can be of any other assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Margaret Mary Cowan
