"My very first experience at QMC Nottingham"

I have scratched my nose and caused face infection which required 5 nights stay at Queen's medical centre in Nottingham. Only 12hrs after I scratched myself my face turn swollen and made me feel very uncomfortable. I wasn't expecting, that it could ever turn so bad.

I was totally shocked, frustrated and scared. Scared, because I am a person who haven't been poorly /ill as I been given by great health and I always look after myself. One little mistake (scratching the face in dirty environment) put me into the situation, when I needed somebody else's help.

I'd love to state, that all staff since I entered QMS emergency department were absolutely brilliant! ! ! Doctors were professional as I was expecting, but also very friendly and very supportive. They explained to me everything in understandable language (very important when you are a foreigner as me) since I got my bed, I have been approached by number of different nurses who were looking after me and I must say, that those people doing such a great job, actually more than that they are putting into it more than 100% for sure. I never experienced such a care ever in the Czech Republic where I am from. QMC staff putting their souls into that.

I had plenty of time to observe how they treat other patients and myself. Unbelievable for me is, that they treat each patient with such an enthusiasm and professionalism and friendly way, making us comfortable, calm and trust. I have no vocabulary to express enough how great they are all. I will remember all of them as long as my brain will work as it should. I just hope that NHS is aware what the doctors, nurses, chefs, cleaners and other employees doing and I hope that NHS appreciate financially they hard work. Thank you guys, you are all stars! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
