"The 'ice' treatment for Taunton Mental Health…"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

After waiting a great length of time at A&E at Musgrove Park Hospital who now provide Mental health care in Somerset, I was in distress and was brought in by ambulance, I was greeted by two members of the crisis team who told me my mental health condition would be solved by going home and making some ice cubes, putting them into a bowl of cold water and submerging my face into the bowl. I thought they were having a laugh, but they were totally serious and said that it works for most of their clients. So I left the A&E 2.5 hours later to try it out, as you would. I can quite happily say it has solved all my mental health issues. Not!

I was later fighting for my life in intensive care so it didnt quite work for me but good try Musgrove. In my view since the two foundation trusts have got together the mental health side has got even worse than it was previously.

Perhaps come up with some new techniques that actually help support people, like CBT or DBT like most other trusts.

A much preferred option to helping people with mental health issues in Somerset.
