"Magnificent Service"

About: Broomfield Hospital

73 year old mail pensioner.

On Tuesday evening 4/2/20 I was returning home from my course in London.

I live in Galleywood and I had parked my car in the NCP Car park at Shenfield Station.

I was returning to my car in the car park at about 2130 hrs, when within 50 feet of my car I slipped/tripped on the footpath which resulted in a heavy fall which caused a massive injury to my right shoulder, knees and hand. My shoulder felt that it was either broken or dislocated.

I managed to get to my feet with great difficulty ( 3 / 4 cars just drove by me while I was on the ground without offering to help ). I called my neighbours in Galleywood who came to collect me and my car. My car was taken home and ''E'' drove my wife and I to Broomfield Hospital A & E arriving at about2230 hrs.

The A/E looked almost full and very busy but within 2 minutes of arrival I was booked in, details checked and advised to take a seat. Within another 5 minutes we were called to the assessment office and my injuries were checked out by the duty Nurses. I was then given pain killer inhaler's and taken straight to X Ray. I was seen straight away, x rayed and returned back to the treatment booth and again given additional pain killers and seen by one of the emergency Doctors who attempted to reset my shoulder but it would not go back. The Drs decided to put me to sleep. When I woke up same time later everything was back in place. I was again returned to X Ray for a 2nd series of x-ray's which was done with minutes and I was now returned to the treatment booth being observed for recovery. The Drs finally assessed me a safe for discharge, made an appoint for me at the Fracture Clinic and I was allowed to go home. I Think the time maybe was around 0200 hrs.

The staff and my treatment at A&E was magnificent, it took only about 3.5 hours maybe less to assess, x- ray, treat, resolve complication, re x-ray, assess, advise and discharge me all while having a very busy A & E

A massive 'Thank You' to those very special people. Well Done
