Our mother got taken to rah hospital on Saturday, after becoming very weak and poorly. On arrival we were told she would go to an assessment ward and just to wait. This didn’t happen...
Instead we were greeted by a nurse called Nikki who moved her round to a room and explained what she was going to do and began various assessments. Our mothers health declined and she became very poorly with a low blood pressure. We can honestly say Nikki went above and beyond, from doing constant observations, giving various medications, explaining what was going on, making our mum comfortable and never complaining when we asked something else.
During our time in a& e we were taken to have a difficult conversation with the doctor. The doctor and Nikki could not of been nicer and more compassionate if they tried. Our mum didn’t really have any other nurse with her and the fact it was the same person coming in who understood everything that was going on with her put us at ease. The doctor and Nikki were incredible and before leaving to go to a ward our mum was a different person, brighter and more chatty. We did get the opportunity to take this nurse aside and say thank you, but the treatment we received in a& e won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Thank you.
"Amazing care received"
