I was taken for an elective c-section in January. There have been a few hiccups on the way. I arrived at 645am as instructed but was told that my pre-op bloods which were taken the day before had been wrongly labelled and would have to be done again.
I was eventually taken to the recovery area in preparation for my elective section, however, it became very apparent that the team were having a busy day of elected sections as well as a high number of emergencies. Unfortunately I was not taken until 6pm.
However, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my section went ahead. Both anesthetists (Justine and Christina) were very reassuring and understanding. Dr Roberts carried out the section, and again this was done in a very caring and professional manner. I was a little scared and tired from waiting all day but I felt in safe hands.
The post op care was excellent too in the recovery area and also in ward 50 where I particularly would like to mention Lindsey and Chloe who really helped. The auxiliary staff were also amazing. I really cannot thank everyone enough.
"Delayed but delighted with professional care"
