"Great care from Ambulance staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My mum needed an ambulance and she was really unwell. There was a student technician attended his name was Liam from the ambulance service and my family would like to pass on our thanks for the care he showed to mum and also our family.

We were all really anxious and scared and he done everything he possibly could to help my mum but also look after us and keep us calm and updated the full time. When we arrived at hospital my mum was taken to resus for over an hour and Liam stayed with her along with his colleague who’s name we didn’t manage to get. He came out and updated us the whole time we were there then he went out on another emergency and still came back to see how my mum was.

Liam is exactly the kind of person needed in the ambulance service. Excellent care from start to finish we can’t thanks all the staff enough.

Response from Andy Graham, Head of Service, Lanarkshire North and South, Scottish Ambulance Service

Nicbee many thanks for your kind words relating to the ambulance crew.

When members of the public have need to call on an accident and emergency ambulance it is a stressful time but the manner in which ambulance staff respond and interact with patients/relatives etc makes a stressful situation slightly easier to deal with.

I don't have the details relating to this call and I am not sure what the outcome was for your mum as I would normally state that I hope she was progressing well and was out of hospital but if that wasn't the case then I apologise if I have caused upset.

If you could email me agraham1@nhs.net to give me some detail about the date, time and location this would allow me to identify the crew and let me personally thank them

Kind Regards

Andy
