After referral by my GP to the surgical hot clinic and undergoing surgery, it took a further 2 visits before I was fortunate to be seen by a surgeon that actually treated me with respect and dignity and arranged the tests required to allow diagnosis of Squamous cell Cancer. It wasn't until July 2019 that I was referred to Maidstone Oncolgy dept and treatment did not commence until Novemeber 2019. This delay caused an extreme amount of pain and stress to myself and family and increased my anxiety which has made me decide to take appropriate action to improve the services provided and therefore improve the care of others. I will of course, pursue my complaint through the appropriate service, PALS.
"Very poor practice, extreme delay in diagnosis…"
