"Poor service"

About: City Hospital (Birmingham)

I came into the hospital by ambulance roughly at 12 in the afternoon I had a high temperature soninhad slippers and a tracksuit on that's it after being checked in I was told to sit out side and wait after telling the doctors I am having difficulties breathing dizziness my lower back and my abdominal was in agony and I have the runs I was called in after 2 and a half hours to get checked give blood and urine sample I am absolutely frozen the doctor asked me to wait outside I was not happy but I did see there were people with serious illnesses to me.

I totally understand the doctors and nurses are rushed of there feet but when I'm trying to ask someone for a gown or something to keep me warm I'm being ignored I feel faint and helpless why does everything take 5 hours it's a joke I just need to lie down I've been told to drink water and rest but was not given anything to drink or keep warm I am disgusted with the treatment.

The doctor I had was helpful but he could only do so much.

I am sorry to hear of your negative experience at City Hospital, this is not the standard of care that we aim to provide. Please could you contact Annabel Bottrill (annabel.bottrill@nhs.net), Matron of the Emergency Department at City with your contact details and an overview of what occurred so she can look into the issues you faced. Kind regards, Dr David Carruthers, Medical Director.
