"Why so many cancelled appointments?"

About: Barnsley Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I had four cancelled appointments in 2019 due to unforeseen circumstances... what does it mean? Why so many canceled appointments?

For my first appointment in April 2019 - I only found out when I arrived at the out-patient clinic.

For the other three cancellations in 2019, I did receive a cancellation letter.

The next appointment is for February 2020, three months after the last cancellation.

Is this is the acceptable/standard practice the Cardiology department?

Update posted by Waiter2 (the patient)

Barnsley patient advice and complaints team is aware of these cancellations. It seems to take months to investigate and I never feel I am provided with any meaningful conclusion and then tell you to report their findings to the health obudsman.
