"Rude and unhelpful receptionists"

There have been numerous occasions were the reception staff have been rude. Their attitude to patients is disgusting they should be there to help and advise patients in a friendly manner however the way some of the receptionists speak to the patients is disgusting.

Ive rang the practice in the past for book an appointment to be told i have to ring on the day i want the appointment for and not able to book in advance this is not ideal for those patients that work and are not able to take time off at a drop of a hat. Upon ringing on the day for an appointment despite ringing at 8am you are on hold for atleast 10 minutes to be then told there are no appointments available for that day and to call back in the morning. There was 1 occasion where my child was very poorly and i was unable to get an appointment despite ringing every morning for 5 days which on the 3rd day they told me to take him to out of hours surgery and even then i couldn't get seen due to being registered with a doctors and being within doctors opening hours.

Ive also been told by the receptionists that you can not order repeat prescriptions over the phone and therefore have to attend the practise to order them. Due to not being able to get to the doctors before they closed for over 2 weeks i was unable to order my prescription and as 1 item was not on a repeat prescription i was told i could not order it and would have to see a doctor to reorder. with no appointments available for that day it was not possible and i was left with no medication until there was an appointment available.

Despite the rude and unhelpful reception staff the doctors at this surgery are brilliant and its a shame the service you receive prior to seeing the doctors is poor.
