"A great example of a service getting things right"

Sofia at Pennywell All Care Centre is a brilliant occupational therapist, she thoroughly assessed my daughter and along with some input from her colleague Sarah they devised a series of therapeutic appointments where we learned a huge amount about how to build my daughter's physical skills and to regulate her sensory inputs and keep her in a calm routine. The occupational therapy received was life-changing for our entire family as her out of sync behaviour can be very challenging and we are seeing much less of it now. 

The sensory workshop that Sarah did at Pennywell All Care was excellent as well and we learned even more about what is happening in my daughter's brain and more strategies to help at this workshop, I've recommended it to several people since then. 

We can't thank Sofia enough for her help, we didn't have a good idea why she was displaying such extremes of behaviour before we self-referred to OT and we learned so many strategies that work, we left feeling we had a much better handle on how to help her and some months later we are still seeing the benefits of this timely input.  

Getting the right person to see your child when they need additional support can feel like such a struggle but Sofia made it seem easy - we have some comprehensive reports and exercise sheets to refer back to in case we need to refresh our memories.  

Cannot recommend Sofia, Sarah and occupational therapy at Pennywell highly enough, a great example of things being well run and a service getting things right.
