"The team looked after us amazingly"

About: Bristol Royal Hospital For Children / Paediatrics Musgrove Park Hospital / Accident and emergency Musgrove Park Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

Our beautiful two week old baby girl was rushed into hospital with breathing problems; and taken onto resus at Musgrove.

The team swiftly did everything right for her and helped saved her life before she was transported to PICU at Bristol children’s hospital. Once better she came back to Musgrove for her recovery.

The team looked after us amazingly and we can’t thank everyone here at Musgrove enough, not only did they save our baby they also helped our other daughter with a recent chest infection.

You're all superheroes!

Dear SH1819,

I am so relieved and delighted to hear that your beautiful two week old baby girl is now so much better after such a dreadfully stressful time for you all. I can only imagine what that must have been like for you as parents. Our staff always try to keep in touch with any baby or child that we transfer to Bristol Children's Hospital and consequently we were all so relieved to hear that she had made such a good strong recovery. Although we appreciate that you had to return to our hospital once again to ensure that she had fully recovered after being in PICU, it is very rewarding for our team to see babies again before we formally say goodbye from the Children's Unit!

I do personally know the nursing and medical team members that cared for your little girl when she was both in the resuscitation room in the emergency department and also here on our Children's Unit. I shall certainly ensure that your lovely feedback is shared with them. I agree they are all superheros!
