"Observation"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

Baby had clinic and needed further observations regarding her breathing. We had 2 hours watching and observing which meant she could be seen quickly and able to go home without having to go onto the ward

Dear Koala123,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience with our team today. I am so glad that you were able to go home with your baby after a period of observation today.

We opened our Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) on the Children's Unit just last week. This allows babies/children to be assessed and treated more rapidly by our dedicated PAU team, allowing many more families to be observed when needed and then sent home, rather than being admitted to our ward. This has already been shown to provide a far better experience for families and I am so glad that this was your personal observation too. I shall ensure that your feedback is shared with our PAU team who are working today.
