I have a varicose vein that runs down through my kneecap. I have had pain with it for months. if I walk on it my knee weakens and eventually buckles from under me. I was told by my doctor the NHS no longer treat varicose veins so have put up with the pain, however, since Friday it has been like a constant ache. The pain is always on my knee & at the side and occasionally travels down my leg & i have been taking painkillers since Friday (it's a constant pain, a bit like toothache) . Again the doc has given me voltarol & advised me to buy compression socks as NHS no longer deal with varicose veins. Your NHS website however advises me that there may be other treatments. Could someone please advise me on what steps if any I can take next if any?
Thanks
