I took a rare autoimmune condition which caused me to be paralysed and very ill for a while. Going from being a very independent healthy person to not being able to do anything was terrifying. I was being fed through a nasogastric tube and had to have a line in my neck. The staff in Dumfries infirmary are second to none. They have been amazing with me. From the nurses, doctors, physio, occupational therapists and speech and language to the anaesthetists, and lots of other staff involved in my care I have nothing but Massive thanks. Especially to the doctors and nurses in critical care and ward c5. And the rheumatology team too. I’m at present in ward c5 and the treatment im getting is the best I could wish for and I’m working with the physio team to get home. I want to thank everyone who has got me where I am. The staff need more recognition. Everybody has been amazing and I genuinely can’t thank them enough.
