"Great staff, but bad building and facilities"

About: Royal Papworth Hospital (Papworth Everard)

Experience of staff and being seen excellent, but my wife got food poisoning from restaurant. Food cold exposed to coughs and sneezes from public. Female mopping floor and then handlding food. Very bad food and not seeming to be at all nutritous. Tea and coffee very unhygienic, you have to hold paper cups to your chest to separate them and you have to hold a the whole lot. I have been in the toilets and not many people wash their hands. Went also to Addenbrookes the next day to eat hoping it would be better. Burger King and Starbucks. What on earth are franchises doing in the hospital. I had a horrid pasty, and my wife had a jacket potato, which is the thing which caused her illness. Solid outer layer and dark brown inner which we couldnt see as coverd in very cheap coleslaw. My wife had to give back the knives and forks as they were dirty. The person on the till said it was only salt marks, that is no excuse. He then handed me more, but he was handling money and cutlery, that is disgusting. I have told my wife if I have to come in for surgery, she is not to visit. It is all style over substance. The reception in the main atrium is useless unless you are a member of staff who wants to just chat all day. Doctors and nurses fabulous but the rest, what a waste of money for a building with too much space which could be used more effectively. Also the ridiculous tents. We thought they were poor homeless doctors, but no, ART. What a waste of money.
