"Bad practice, ignore any issues raised. "

About: Mile Oak Medical Centre

There is a lot of miscommunication, I've had a back and fort with reception staff who have refused to book me appointments the doctor has requested and I've had to remind them they need to look at my notes to find that I have been advised by the GP to book. It shouldn't be something I'm having to remind staff to do. I shouldn't be questioned so suspiciously when I call and say the GP has requested I see them, this information is there for them to see.

I have been given other patients personal information, this had their full name and address and BP results on it. I took it back to the surgery and advised the receptionist that this was concerning, she didn't say a thing. I then emailed the complainant department to raise the issue, not through outrage but to raise concerns and make them aware that this is a data protection concern and that they needed to be aware this has happened to stop in the future. I never got a reply, despite their complaints procedure being very clear on their website that you should get a reply within 48hrs. So I emailed again a week or so later pointing this out and got a disappointing reply of "this was brought up in the staff meeting"

I myself now wonder if my results went missing as I waiting so long for them, had to start chasing them up on a weekly basis, firstly to be told if I hadn't heard back all was fine. I advised the receptionist that I had to physically write down my BP for a sold week and even I knew these results showed borderline high BP, she then looked further into it and realised the results hadn't even been put into the computer yet so the doctor's wouldn't have seen it.

I called back a week later and still it hadn't been put on the system.

I called back another week later and was advised that the doctor would call me, a few days later I still had no call, so I requested to book an appointment, I was denied, I said I would happily wait for the most convenient time, be that a week or two away as I just wanted to discuss the results and have been waiting so long. I was still refused. I then got a missed call a day later requesting I book an appointment with the GP, this was the point I called back and was treated as though I was lying about the request and had to tell the staff to just check my notes.

I've had to have 3 separate blood pressure checks now and each time I've never been contacted by GP/nurse I've had to spend days and weeks chasing it all up myself in order to get everything done.

It seems that the staff have terrible communication, no one has any clue what's going on and no one will own up to any mistakes made or apologies for delays or misinformation. They don't seem to input potentially important information or pass on queries to GP's or nursing staff.

I have raised issues with the practice to no avail.
