"Bowel screening gone right"

About: Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / SEAL (Surgical Elective Admission Lounge)

(as a service user),

I got the new bowel sample kit in post. Used it sent it back and  Within ten days I had a letter there was  blood in the sample and I needed a hospital appointment.which I got ten days later and  a MRI and a CT. PLUS A colonoscopy  I got my results it was cancerous polyp. .  within 3 months I had another 2 colonoscopys a sigmoidoscopy and tamis  procedure. . After the last procedure I was out of bed and out of the hospital the next day . Every staff member I encountered were so caring especially Mr Robertson and his specialist nurse Wendy.

As where All the nurses in ward 53 Victoria hospital . It’s really worth sending the kit back the system works and works well

Thank you for taking the time to tell your story I apologise in the delay it has taken to reply. I am pleased that all your investigations were undertaken in a timely manor including your TAMIS procedure. I will pass on your kind comments to my colleague Wendy, I am glad you felt supported by our team.

I wish you all the best for the future.
