About: The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre

I underwent a TOE procedure, and couldn’t have had a more pleasant and straightforward experience. All the staff of Thames Ward were incredibly friendly and helpful, from the Receptionist who initially greeted us, to the Consultant Cardiologist who performed the TOE.

The procedure itself was conducted very smoothly, and the sedation administered was so effective, that I have little recollection of anything. My recovery was rapid, and within an hour-and-a-half I was able to enjoy coffee and biscuits.

My wife and I would like to thank everyone involved. You’re doing a great job!

The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC) is delighted you had such an excellent patient experience when you underwent a TOE procedure. The staff in the CTC always try to provide excellent care to all patients and always aim to work as a friendly, communicative and helpful team. The CTC provides various learning opportunities for staff to enable them to improve the way we work and provide excellent, safe, care for patients and from this review we are reassured.
