"My papa's last wish"

About: Kilbryde Hospice / Inpatient Care

(as a relative),

My papa has just recently passed away and had spent his remaining time in the kilbride hospice. Our family cant begin to thank all nurses and  staff for all there hard work and commitment. Every one of them went above and beyond to keep my papa smiling right till the end. My papas last wish was to have a wee gathering with all his friends and family in his local pub which he loves. Due to my papa being so ill and unable to leave the hospice the staff done the most touching thing and brought the pub to him. They let him have the room filled with people his friends and family there was music food and loads of special memories made that day that will last a lifetime. My papa always spoke so highly of all the staff and said the hospice itself was such a beautiful calming place to spend his final weeks in.

Also the support the staff gave the family was so comforting always there when needed or even if it was I needed time out if I was upset without a doubt one or the nurses would allow me time out in the family room and talk me through things n try make me better.  also always updating the family on any change regularly which allowed us to be up at the hospice when needed the most.

Personally I dont think I could ever put into words the thank you that yous all deserve I am truly thankful for everything yous did and my papa was so greatful to be in such wonderful care.   Personally I dont think theres anything yous could have done more and will always be so thankful

Dear Wilkiel, thank you for your very kind and sincere words in relation to our teams care for your Papa here at Kilbryde Hospice. The hospice strives to keep life as normal as possible for all our patients even at the times when our patients are no longer able to leave our care.

Your Papa’s love of being sociable shone through as was his love for his family and all his friends. To enable your Papa to have the enjoyment of a gathering within the Hospice with friends and family, as he would have had if he was at home, was a pleasure for us to assist with.

Our staff spend a lot of time with families of our patients and we want you to know you will always be welcome here at the hospice when you need us.
