My first pregnancy was pretty traumatic...with gallstones and pancreatitis! This time round was a much nicer experience.
I work for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and I feel that I need to provide this feedback! I want the team to know how wonderful they are.
I had my baby in the Princess Royal Maternity. I unfortunately don’t have the names of the team looking after me but I’m sure they can be traced.
Firstly, the midwife looking after me in the ward while awaiting my c section kept me fully informed and managed to build a good therapeutic relationship in a short period of time. It made me feel at ease and in control. She really stood out and is an example to us all. Secondly, it took a few attempts to successfully give me the spinal. The theatre nurse kept me going by talking to me and reassuring me.
The anesthetist was the definition of professional. I trusted her completely due to her professionalism and she also had such a lovely way with me. I actually felt like I was part of the team, all working together to deliver my baby! I wish I could mention each individual, what I can say is that the whole team were fantastic! Finally, in the maternity ward, I think I was in ward 68, there was a night midwife who displayed excellent care! She kept me fully informed and was on top of everything and again was extremely professional but also had a personal touch.
I could go on...I just want to say thank you for all the hard work they do particularly in such a busy environment. I really hope this gets back to the team who looked after me!
