"A dark and enduring depression"

About: One Recovery Bucks / High Wycombe Whiteleaf Centre / Ruby Ward

(as a service user),

With the help of ORB, I was able to survive the most traumatic experience I had in my life; being locked up in a facility with very little to do for 2 months against my will. This led to a suicidal depression lasting over 4 months. The non-judgemental support given by the guy from ORB Aylesbury I met with on Ruby Ward contributed to the saving of my life (which had almost become Russian Roulette with the amount of pills issued to me.) I had researched the fatal overdose on each of them, and landed upon one which could do the deed (Albeit less comfortably, featuring convulsions, heart attacks and choking on own vomit, so far from the "peacefully drifting away" my soul craved).

Ps: in summary, choosing to spend time only with people with the endless patience to listen to me during a deep, dark and enduring depression ultimately saved my life. While Oxford Mental Health (who put me there) did precisely NOWT.

Response from Tracy Braddock, Service Manager, Inclusion

Firstly can I say thank you for taking the time to give us your valuable feedback. It sounds like you have experienced a very difficult period over the last few months, I am so glad to see that you linked in with our in-reach worker on the wards and this care and support as transferred with you now you are back in the community.

Sorry but it would not be fair for me to comment on your experience with another service, where you feel your needs were not met, you could contact their Patient Advise Liaison Service (PALS). I am glad to hear that ORB have so far been meeting your needs, but get in touch again if anything chnages.

Please please keep talking if you feel those dark days returning again and you experience suicidal thoughts. There is people to care and listen if you feel like that when we are not open, please contact the Samaritans or call 111 for support.

Can I wish you all the very best, keeping accessing all you find useful and support at ORB.

Kind Regards

Tracy
