"Great experience across NHS Tayside"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Ninewells Hospital / Maternity care Ninewells Hospital / Paediatrics Perth Royal Infirmary / Community Midwifery Unit Perth Royal Infirmary / Urology Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

9 months ago, I gave birth in PRI and had an extremely positive experience. Pre and post birth the support and care I received was fantastic. I was taken to Ninewells after the birth and cannot fault the efficient systems and amazing staff who took care of me, from the midwives and paramedics to the support and surgery staff.

Two weeks later my baby had a fever and again the efficiency with which this was dealt with by the 111 operator, out of hours doctor in PRI, paediatric staff in Ninewells made the situation much less stressful. The following day my husband had surgery and again the experience was a positive one due to the staff in urology and ward 7 of PRI.

The professionalism, compassion and dedication of the staff we came across in NHS Tayside was amazing and I am so thankful to all of them for making what could have been a very traumatic time as stress-free as possible.

I am so thankful and impressed by the amazing service we received from NHS Tayside.

Dear Cmp189

How nice of you to take the time to thank the staff involved in caring for you and your family. Congratulations on the birth of your baby who no doubt, at the age of nine months, will be keeping you on your toes!

I am sure my colleagues within NHS Tayside will be delighted with your comments and the staff involved sound like a huge credit to the NHS.

The Care Opinion team has kindly tagged NHS 24 to your story as you mention a call to 111 when your baby was unwell. I appreciate that this will have been a worrying time for you and I am pleased our staff were able to assist in reducing your stress levels.

Our Care Opinion stories are shared with a large number of our staff, so many of them will see your positive comments, which is great. If you wish to contact us directly with any additional detail about your call to 111, then we would be delighted to hear from you. Our Patient Experience Team can be contacted on 0141 337 4582 or by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks again for getting in touch and best wishes to you all.

Dear Cmp189,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us all on CareOpinion and congratulations on the birth of your little boy. I am so pleased to read about your positive experience. Last year we were looked after by the staff at PRI for most of my wifes pregnancy and the staff are excellent there! We ended up in Ninewells and were also looked after by the paediatric staff at Ninewells who I must agree were so good.

It seems like it has been quite a year for you and your husband and I do hope that all is better now and you are enjoying lots of family time. I should say I am also happy to read that you were pleased with the paramedics who attended you. Dealing with ladies and newborns or at near birth stage is always a nervous experience for us all.

Thanks again for your comments and I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
