"Bad seating in A&E"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 26, 27, 61 & 62 )

(as the patient),

The seats in the A& E waiting area are terrible. Sitting in a bare-wood chair for over 2hrs with a bad back is a nightmare. Toilets have no hooks for hanging the jackets or probably the hooks have been broken and not repaired.

Hi Antonym,

Many thanks for your feedback it is always worthwhile and helps make sure that we are trying to change the things that matter for patients.

We are aware of the issues around the waiting area within the Glasgow Royal's Emergency Department and are in the process of applying for finance to help improve the area. This includes replacing and upgrading the seats within the area. Your feedback has been forwarded to the interested parties to support this process.

As for the issues around coat hooks in the toilets, due to a number of safety issues over the years within the hospitals in the area we can not provide coat hooks in the toilets. I appreciate the problems this can cause for patients waiting but we must take safety of all patients as a priority.

Again thanks for taking the time to give us feedback
