"Breast reconstruction & kind care"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / General surgery Leicester Royal Infirmary / Plastic surgery

(as the patient),

This staff team on Kinmonth Ward are incredible, to say they are over worked and under staffed, you wouldn’t know it. Following my op I was in a bad way. In pain and feeling very sick. Because I was in a lot of discomfort I was not always the nicest of patients but the nursing and auxiliary staff didn’t show me anything other than care, patience and empathy. My tea cup was kept full. The staff were in regularly and I trusted them with my care implicitly.

From Nurses Violet, Jenny, Dianna and Fides to HC assistants Amy and Housekeeping Elizabeth and I know I am missing more they were all wonderful in different ways and made my stay on this ward amazing and I’m sure I owe my speedy recovery to these lady’s.

when we are at our most vulnerable we rely on this amazing service to get us back on our feet and I can honestly say this ward and the staff who work here are worth their weight in gold. I couldn’t have done it without them.

I also found that I owed my Free TV to the staff fund raising and will be making a contribution on my way out as this was a real comfort. Although this wouldn’t be necessary if we fund our NHS properly the effort made by this staff is  truly commendable.

Thank you to all who worked on the kinmonth unit I won’t ever forget all you have done for me. Xx
