"Can't make an appointment"

About: Somerset NHS Foundation Trust / Adult community mental health

(as a service user),

I am trying to get an appointment with the mental health team for my son but can't make an appointment as I cannot get through on the phone number provided.   Every time I ring it, it is answered then immediately hung up.   I can't find another way to contact them.   I don't use the internet - I prefer the phone.   How am I supposed to get help for my son?   The NHS letter only gives one number and the feedback number.

Dear cafeqz74

I'm not sure if you are referring to our service, Talking Therapies, or the community mental health team. If it is Talking Therapies, we're not aware of any problem with our phones but you can

Pick up a self-referral form from your GP surgery or your Community Hospital, complete this and post it back to us (Freepost).Speak to your GP who can refer you directly to us.If you are already receiving treatment through Somerset Partnership you can speak to your Health Professional who can refer your son to usCall 0300 323 00 33 To book yourself in for an Emotional Health Check with one of our team.

We also have direct numbers for each of our 4 bases but I'm unsure which area you are contacting from.

Regards,
Marc McDonagh

Service Lead, Talking Therapies
