I wish to thank the Professor and his talented medical team that carried out the procedure on Thursday 25th July. I had turned 75 just a few weeks earlier and was rather apprehensive of a major surgery.
However, the Professor was very assuring and extremely helpful in overcoming most of my fears. I had severe stenosis at L3/4 and moderately severe stenosis at L4/5 level. For several years, I had experienced deteriorating mobility and pain in one leg. Lately the pain got unbearable and I began having it in both legs and could only walk 50 meters or so. In my surgery L3/4 and L4/5 had an indirect decompression and fusion with intel spinous "Alpine Device". I stayed 4 days at the hospital and could not have wished for the excellent care provided by the nurses with my surgeon making a daily round to monitor my progress. I had already built both confidence and faith that my surgery had gone very well, considering I was able to walk in my room, just few hours after my early morning surgery. I had several sessions of physiotherapy since my leaving the hospital. I can now walk without any pain and the surgical wound has healed. I am so grateful for the new lease of life I have been given, following my surgery at the Meriden Hospital.
