"My Orthopedic MRI"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 26, 27, 61 & 62 )

(as the patient),

After  a long time in pain I attended my doctor with a sore neck and shoulder.   I went through the process including physio; who who told me it was all down to my shoulder.

I was eventually referred to Orthopedics Glasgow Royal Infirmary.   It took a very long time to get my appointment but I was eventually seen. They told me it was a spinal thing and that I required a full spinal MRI. That was, seen September MRI November.

At the end of November I started looking for results and was eventually told to phone the Royal who have informed me; now six weeks later, that not only does the person I saw not exist, I wont get my test results until next year. Maybe January possibly February or March. Mean while I continue to take the extensive medication required for me to get through my day. Can anyone tell me who will get my results if and when they are finally reviewed and when will I get those results please.

Dear Daithi,

I was sorry to hear about the delay on the reporting of your MRI scan which was undertaken in the GRI at the end of November.

I can advise that I have forwarded your Care Opinion post onto senior colleagues within the Radiology Directorate for their comment. I suspect further information will be required from you in order to provide an update and Radiology staff may be back in touch with you regarding this.

Yours sincerely,

John Stuart

Chief Nurse.
