"Exemplary GP care"

Through a mental breakdown due to stress and anxiety, and recovery from it I saw Dr Luty at Dorema Surgery, Kilmacolm for the medical side of treatment. She treated me with respect and trust. She understood that I was in crisis when I first saw her. She made me realise that she could help, not only with medications but also with signing me off work if I needed it.

She reminded me of other helpful things to do to aid recovery, such as sleep, eating well, life balance, being kind to myself, moments of self care, social support.

She spent an (?unreasonable) amount of time with me to make sure I was safe. She connected the dots in my mind to understand why things might be happening, or why my body/mind reacted to situations in specific ways.

All that to say, thank you, Dr Luty, for treating me like a human being, for helping me get out of the bottom of a ditch, and for being with me as I make efforts to keep climbing up. You are truly helping me get there. We (your patients) are lucky to have you.
