"The epitome of what nursing is all about"

About: Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I was scheduled for colonoscopy and everyone who's had one, knows the prep is the worst part!

The signs for the clinic were poor, but with the help of 2 nurses, we found it. When we arrived, my son was shown the correct lift to use :)

The staff were terrific, the epitome of what nursing is all about, and each one shared the spirit of Christmas with their good cheer and Christmas adornments.

I elected for sedation, but remember the whole experience, no pain, just a bit of discomfort and the doctor talked me through the procedure.

I felt very special, enjoyed the background music, and especially the toast and coffee afterwards- excellent service!

I congratulate the whole team and hope the NHS can deliver this type of care in all departments in Fife and throughout the UK.

Dear Happycat06

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion following your recent Colonoscopy.

I apologise that you had difficulty finding the unit, the signage could be a bit more specific but it nice to know you were pointed in the right direction.

The staff will be delighted to know that you appreciated them and their festive adornments and I will be sure to pass on your comments to the team.
Having been on the receiving end, I wholeheartedly agree with your comments regarding the bowel prep however the tea and toast almost makes up for it!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year

Sandra
