111 Service, most of the time very happy with the service I have been using it over a year but I have one issue which haunts me. I take a particular medicine, Oxycodone 10mg which was originally prescribed by my GP. For various reasons 111 have prescribed these to me on 7 or 8 occasions but now say they cannot prescribe over the phone. They told me to go to the emergency care centre who told me to go back to my GP. My GP would not prescribe the medication 2 days early and told me to try 111 - I am going round in circles. I have osteoporosis, 80% of my bones in my body hurt. I have had to have operations on my knees, shoulders, hips and I am in constant pain and discomfort.
I have been using this tablet for 20 years and I have to admit that I am dependent on them. As I am not getting them enough and as I am having to take them more often than prescribed to ease the pain and so running out of them I am getting withdrawal symptoms. I am body shaking, vomiting, have restless legs and cannot walk unaided. My wife has to stay at home to look after me and take me to the toilet. I have had a medicine review but my GP will not give me my prescription early (just 2 days sometimes).
111 are very polite and very helpful but refer me back to my GP who refers me to the emergency healthcare centre who refer me to 11 and so on so going around in circles. No one is helping me.
