"Great Care"

About: East Surrey Hospital

I was referred to the Opthamology department at East SurreyHospital on 3rd December, following an eye test. I was due to have the dilating pupil drops put in , as it was felt I had Glaucoma. It was found that the pressure in my left eye was extremely high , and was slightly raised in my right eye . Almost Immediately I was taken to a side room , given eye drops and IV medicine to lower the pressure. All the staff were extremely caring and put me at ease. A bit later on I was having both my eyes lasered by my doctor and I didn’t feel a thing . I had a follow up appointment on the 5th December . I also had one on the 10 th December where my pressure had crept up again . Once again the situation was dealt with extremely quickly with more IV drugs and eye drops .I have to attend on 13th December either for more extensive lasering , or surgery to remove the lens in my left eye. The care I have received on all visits has been first class , and my dr is a true professional.

Response from Christopher Treloar, Service Manager, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust

Good Morning,

My name is Chris Treloar and I am the Service Manager for our Ophthalmology service.

I am delighted that you have had such a positive experience, and I hope that your ongoing care since you posted this message has been equally positive.

I have shared your feedback with the team.

It is especially pleasing to receive feedback like this because we have been particularly focussed on improving patient experience in Ophthalmology outpatients during the past 18 months or so.

Thank you

Chris Treloar
