"Ward Care Apalling "

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Admitted for gall bladder surgery

E5 and E4 were very good

Moved from E5 to E2 on a Sunday to a non monitored bed in E2

E2 appalling level of care

No ownership of care

Was sick and luckliy nephew was visting is a oncology registrar and was shocked by the lack of attention from staff

Discharge then readmitted due to infection to E4 via SAU

Dreaded moving from e4 to e2

In isolation because of alleged resistance to antibiotics found to be cross contamination of samples

No one in e2 responds to buzzer

Husband had to get a doctor to chase MRI appointment because nursing staff couldn't be bothered

Would never be admitted to the QA willingly in the future would rather choose a hospital further from home

I'm really sorry to hear that things did not go as well as we would expect and would certainly like to look into this if you could send us a private e-mail with your personal details.

We try very hard to provide the best possible care for all of our patients so we would really appreciate the opportunity to look into what happened during this admission.

You can e-mail PALS - PHT.PALS@porthosp.nhs.uk or telephone 0800 917 6039.

Kind regards

Marion
