"Helping me on my journey"

About: Barnet Hospital / Neurology Edgware Community Hospital / Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

(as the patient),

I had a MS flare up in August 2019 whilst driving. An accident followed after which I was taken Barnet General Hospital and made an inpatient there for two weeks. Physiotherapists gave me confidence and taught me to walk again. I was given a CT and a MRI scan to help rule out the possibility of a stroke. The outcome was slightly confusing and I was told that neither are conclusive.

I was then transferred to Edgware Hospital and underwent three weeks of inpatient rehabilitation. This gave me the chance to get back into the mainstream of life with the support of medical professionals.

My house was also adapted to make going up and downstairs easier and safer.

I am now in the care of the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre at Edgware. Occupational Therapy and specialist nurses are helping me on my journey back to full-time employment. This will happen in 2020.
