"A treasure to the department"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Day Surgery University Hospital Hairmyres / General Surgery (Ward 5) University Hospital Hairmyres / Pre Operative Assessment

(as the patient),

I've had problems with the gallbladder for a while now, because of previous operations it wasnt going to be a easy job. Went to pre assement, explained everything,  nurses were brilliant. Anyway I was booked in for op and on arrival I was met by nurse Fiona, amazing lady, made me feel so relaxed and answered all my questions, a treasure to the department. Next to the anaesthetist, theses guys made me laugh, 3 off them were brilliant and keeping me worry free. Now to the surgeons, wow wow wow, mr Mahmood and mr Khan, these guys are top of the tree. 3 and a half hours picking away inside me to remove the gallbladder, they could have opened up my side and take the risk of infection and hernia, but no, they picked away with 6 small holes and did the job. Honestly I owe my life to mr Mahmood,   I'm 100% sure mr Khan's will be saving lots of lives too, top guys. Now to ward 4 level1, lyndsey the nurse was outstanding,   nothing was a problem,   always making sure you were ok. She never stopped all night, dont know how she coped with some of the argumentative patients. Now to the rest of the staff in ward 4, what can I say, you lot are a credit to the NHS, the way you treat patients is 2nd to none, the crap I witnessed from some patients was shocking,   yet you all stayed so professional and got on with what you do best, only words to describe you all is the dream team of hairmyres hospital,   keep up the great work ladies,

Dear Belly man

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback regarding your recent admission to Hairmyres.

I am so happy to hear you had such a good experience, I will ensure your comments are passed to the team involved. I am sure Mr Mahmood, Mr Khan, Fiona and Lynsey (and the rest of the surgical team) will all be delighted to see what you have written.

I hope you are recovering well following your procedure and wish you all the best for the future.

Many Thanks

Angela
