"Fantastic ambulance team"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

Craig and Harry, who are based in Douglas, arrived to help elderly Mum who had fallen and was lying wedged between furniture. They were reassuring, worked quickly to provide pain relief, and gently straightened her knee and checked her shoulder before carefully lifting her onto the trolley and out to the ambulance. They helped my frail and worried Dad into the ambulance to accompany her. A genuinely caring team who made her as comfortable as possible and even looked in hours later (when passing in A& E after delivering another patient) to say hello and hear how she got on with X-rays. Thank you so much! Good to know we have that great service and wish you could be even better staffed as we could see just how busy the ambulances and A& E were.

Dear Manzana,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am sorry to read about what happened to your mother. This must have been very frightening for both her and your father.

I am however very pleased to read about the service that Craig and Harry provided you. It is clear that they made quite the impression and its also wonderful to hear the Service values of care and compassion were on show.

I hope that your mother is on the road to a full recovery and your father is doing well also!

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan

Update posted by Manzana (a relative)

Thank you - she’s back on her feet and gaining more confidence walking with her zimmer after her fall. Dad’s glad to have her home after an overnight in hospital.

Manzana please accept my personal thanks for taking the time to share your story.

I am the Senior Manager for the ambulance service within Lanarkshire and it is great to have such positive feedback relating to an ambulance crew. I can advise that I will make contact with the crew to share your care post opinion with them.

Good to hear that your Mum is back home and hope that she continues on the road to recovery and I am sure being home will help.
