"Infection to wound site post- skin cancer removal"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC

(as a relative),

Phenomenal care from Beverley Urgent treatment nurses, quick service that got my Nana the care and support she needed post surgery after gaining an infection to the wound site. The nurses on shift cleaned the site, dealt with the excoriating skin surrounding the site using specialist emollients, padded up the broken down skin and dressed it accordingly. As the removal was in the sacral area, the stitches had opened up and the skin around the site has started to break down. The nurses took the matter very seriously, they called the consultant in another hospital and made a referral back to the specialist doctor for the next morning to be seen. They treated the ‘severe’ infection with 10 days worth of antibiotics and advised on positioning and pressure area relief. Couldn’t have wished for better treatment, this day made me very proud of our NHS and even prouder to be part of it!
