About: Heartlands Hospital / Thoracic surgery

(as the patient),

I was transferred from Hereford with a collapsed lung caused by Bacterial Pneumonia. Hereford & Heartlands in HDU & normal wards were just fantastic. The nurses & sisters are just   incredible & the registrar Costas kept me smiling & Prof Kalcat were magnificent. I was a business owner with 2000 people employed & I can tell you the short staffing is going to dangerous I have no doubt. I watched carefully everyday & kept a video diary when I was well enough. One simply cannot pay these people enough. Also a mention for the Vicar & the RC Priest, I had communion everyday & prayers which kept me strong & these Chaplains are worth their weight in gold. Well done Hereford & Heartlands. I owe you all a great deal. Love to all & Merry Christmas. Patrick Kennedy. Ludlow, Shropshire.

I have told all the fortunate people that have never had to call upon the NHS to ask anyone that has been seriously poorly what their thoughts are! Remember, a hospital is a hospital not a hotel ...

The NHS staff I met in Hereford & Heartlands were just fantastic, they know when someone is frightened & they care...
