"Short term educational programme"

About: Highly Specialist Services / Short Term Educational Programme (STEP)

(as a service user),

It was 4 week long 2hr each time which really wasn't long enough to fit everything in to it I feel it should be 6 week long like the family and friends understanding borderline personality disorder course

Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback on the course and I’m sorry it didn’t feel like long enough. Although the majority of feedback we receive is positive, occasionally we do hear people asking if it could be longer.

However the course is not therapy but is focused on education providing an introduction to understanding personality disorder / emotional sensitivity, the difficulties that individuals may have to deal with and the tools that may support them to manage.

It was initially developed in that format by a Peer Specialist (from their experience of not having any help and what did go on to help them) and an experienced clinician within SHSC.

The course content is being reviewed on regular basis taking into account feedback from attendees.
