Well, in March 2017, after much soul searching, taking years and years, I decided that I wanted to be referred by my then GP to the GIC in Sheffield. The Porterbrook clinic at Nether edge.
So I got the referral request back from the GIC 15 May 2017, so now the ball was rolling. I received my first meeting in May 2018 with Sarah and I have been quite a few times to this clinic now.
Today writing this in November 2019, I have been again and had my 2nd voice therapy lesson of which I sincerely enjoy, learning not just about my voice but correct posture to get the most from your voice, believe me, it all makes sense! Also seeing Sarah again and discussing the next stage of my transition and that being GRS ( gender reassignment surgery).
I think all the staff at this clinic have been absolutely fantastic with me, and couldn’t be more helpful, I will go so far to say that if it wasn’t for this clinic, I would not be here now and I mean this!
I intend to go all the way through my transition from Male to my true gender, female and I am convinced I’m at the right place to do this.
