About: Shere Surgery/Dispensary

(as the patient),

Let down.

I phoned at 8.30am on a Monday morning. I was told I could not make an appointment until the next Wednesday and I had to phone on that day to make an appointment. No advance appointments were being made as they are introducing a new system. I was advised to leave it til after the Wednesday as it would be busy. After Wednesday I called and was told to login in online. I tried this, but could not find out to register. Apparently this is not under Register (this is registering for the surgery) under the button “consult my gp”. Which is so obvious as the place to Register!! After not finding where to register, I went to the gp surgery to request an appointment. They told me I could do it all online. I left the surgery later in the month and immediately registered and applied for an appointment.

I heard nothing on the next day. so asked again for an appointment online that lunchtime. I do not like having to put personal medical details online but I have no choice as that’s the only way to get an appointment. A few hours later I received an email telling me to call the surgery. Apparently he had tried to call but no reply. We live in the Surrey hills so phone networks are weak and they called my mobile not home phone. So four weeks after originally ringing for an appointment I am now ringing again as this system does not work. It’s a complete waste of my time and seems like a way of making sure patients don’t get access to appointments. Appalling. They used to be a really good practice. It’s such a shame.
