"A poem about the marvellous Scottish Borders mental health services"

About: Huntlyburn House

(as the patient),

Here is a short poem about being sectioned in wonderful mental hospital ward of the Scottish Borders Huntlyburn Ward near Melrose

"a section in life"

the day is long & tiresome

drugs four times a day then moresome

i sit & ponder this last week being

sectioned now in Huntlyburn

since tuesday the twenty daysome

those early days were spent

being checked & searched

for blood counts & the heart sounded

nothing to worry about i care to add

but I'm sectioned now & i feel sad

recovering & stress relieved now aint half bad

my mood stabilised now a tad

getting there i am, so my doc was glad

they're ready now to make me less mad

to a drug joyed spirit, but i'm still sad

so here i live in suite number ❤

with drugs induced, i do delve

long showers & soap from the shelves

time passes slowly with rolling cigs

meals of great quality with my fellow patients

calls to family, & texts to friends ensue

love poems to ❤, with her visits new

stories & tales unfold, some very blue

of wonderous times gone past and new

sunset or rain asunder on the grassy dew

i am but a mortal man, nae perfect you see

with tainted heart & sins, more than three

locked inside & not yet set free

free to fly or travel around with glee

freedom my friends is not so free

we must enjoy the good professional company

who decide & plan my days in Huntlyburny

scribbling & talking of my progress

mental state improving by day and daily

behaving well, compliant even gayly

so here we go my family & friends

with wife waiting forlornly and expectantly

for the release of me

waiting for another week or so seemingly

one to judge or be the judiciary

adue, adue my family, friends and foes

forget the boredom onwards i must go

taking meals & drugs till aglow again

drowsy now with my head on soft pillow

adue, adue my family friends and foe

Amen

Hi

Thanks you taking the time to write the poem and its always nice to get some feedback. I hope you are recovering and I will ensure all the staff see your poem on the ward.

Thank you
