"Confused About Waiting Times System"

I was referred to neurology on at the beginning of June (the date is on the referral letter) but the admin team say it went through the system in the middle of the following month. This is confusing me. I can understand a few days delay but not 5 weeks. The wait time from the date on the letter would be 24 weeks, but only 19 weeks from the date it went through the system. The quoted waiting time for neurology is 20 - 30 weeks. 

I've been patient up till now but had to call and then write on this platform, due to new symptoms and on hearing about the 5 week delay.

I would like to know why it took over 5 weeks for my referral letter to be scanned onto the waiting list?
