"Doctors and consultant never helped. "

About: Darent Valley Hospital

Darent Valley has always had life saving treatment. But being a visitor in the kidney ward (Nephrology) was a shock that the doctors and consultants weren’t of any quality to patients and unfulfilled duty. They were very futile and unfulfilling promises of patient. That sounds harsh.

But a dear relative of mine passed away there. CKD, Polycyst Kid-, Kidney Cancer etc is difficult diseases and difficult to solve problem, kidneys are complex organ. But the doctors (I won’t name) was hardly there, never ever seen. They never shared any information informed about end stage but on a quick emergency call and a “sorry” that someone’s going to die and doctor wants to meet so suddenly, 3 hours later I finally see the doctor in charge. They put their hands up to surrender. OK you can’t save everyone death is fact of live. But a nerve to ask a unnecessary question to a patient on Palliative Care was abit far. Darent Valley CQC did an investigation in my case.

After my relative passed away peacefully but the disease staged faster in hospital as they were on the bed too many several months and never came home, contract pneumonia, sepsis and resulted to strong antibiotics resulting to unsuccessful multiple organ intolerance and internal bleeding.

Darent Valley did an investigation was that find the doctors explanation of bad treatment. Forgive and forget.

My friend was undergoing kidney treatment and I came along to revisit. I asked my friend. The doctor still promise “Urinalysis, blood culture checks”. Nothing has changed then and familiar faces looked a bit shocked of my revisit.

But I hope no other person(s) experience dodging doctors ever again. Like I said, the hospital is in a duality, both right and wrong, it odd as it does have fantastic life saving treatment but care and compassion otherwise has a flaw. This shouldn’t be about bed space and turnout. That’s a wrong mentality a risk to British lives.

We are very sorry for the loss of your relative and do hope that the investigations alleviated at least some of your concerns. It is very difficult when a dear family member passes and do understand that we would all want the very best care for our loved ones.

If we can assist any further or you need somebody to speak to please do contact the hospital.

Kind regards

The Communications Team
