I rang 111 services who advise me to go to the walk-in centre at Pallion in Sunderland. I went and waited about 1/2 hour and was called into a room with 2 people, where they took my vitals and information as to why In was there. They offered me an out of hours GP appointment, straight away and gave me my stats on a scrap piece of paper to take with me.
When I went I had to see another nurse who wasn't interested in the stats on the paper I had and did their own tests, then tells me to sit in the waiting room to be seen by the doctor. I was called to the doctor room, asked again about my symptoms and then took my temperature, when I said that the nurse had just done it, the doctor abruptly said they wanted to do it, as if they had no faith in the nurse.
Because I had a viral infection in my throat the dr said to take honey, i said I don't like honey. They insisted again that I take honey, I reiterated that I don't like honey in any way shape or form. Then they said that I should have hot soup, which I replied I don't like soup. So the dr just said have plenty of tea and coffee, and seemed very annoyed that I explained that I did not like honey or soup. So I was given a prescription for medication, when I received this medication and got home and opened them up I found out that they gave me anti-inflammatory lozengers and the flavour honey and lemon!! I don't pay for my prescriptions so this doctor cost the NHS £9 for a prescription I cant use.
My grievances are why 2 nurses in the walk-in centre room?
Why was my vitals taken twice within an hour?
Why did the doctor give me medication they knew I wouldn't like, meaning I wouldn't take them.
Why did the doctor take temperature and use another cap for the ear thermometer? This cost money and quite a bit if its the same, for all the patients seen.
Why was this doctor rude and arrogant towards me? I am not going to have something that I have never liked.
This was the 2nd time I used the walk-in centre (1st time I was seen by one nurse) and the 1st time I used the out of hours GP service. Which I don't think I will use again. I will use google if I have to and diagnose myself.
I feel that everyone is going on about NHS losing money and can't cope with the demand. Well, I have seen 1st hand why I think they are losing money and if I have to see 3 professionals before the doctor and they did the same thing, no wonder the NHS is going bust.
