I visited Petter Day Treatment Unit for a termination of pregnancy (a very hard decision but a decision my partner and I had to make). I was greeted by lovely nurses at reception that made me feel at ease right away, they showed me to the waiting area and informed me they are busy today but they hope it won’t be long. After just under an hour I was called in and a lovely nurse showed me to my ‘room’ and treated me with upmost respect. She took my details and asked me to put a gown on and some socks and informed me they were behind today so she’s sorry about the wait. Although I waited almost 4 hours to go into surgery all the staff were kind and apologetic. After my surgery I came round and I was very upset and teary but all the nurses around me gave me nothing but sympathy and kindness. When I was ready to go back to the day unit they took me back and gave me a cup of tea and biscuits and rang my partner for me. The DR who performed my surgery even came round to see how I was doing and informed me everything went fine and I done really well, he also treated me with respect and was a gentleman towards me. Although it was such an upsetting and heartbreaking day for myself and my partner we couldn’t praise the unit/staff/DR enough. Thank you to you all.
"Amazing staff"
