I tripped on a curb in early August and broke my wrist. I arrived at Inverclyde Royal Hospital’s ED department where I was seen and assessed promptly, first by an ED doctor and then by Orthopedics. Surgery was required so I was referred to GRI (as it was closer home) after all my immediate needs were attended to. I had contact with the trauma coordinators, who helped to organised my admission to the ward a few days later. The staff on the ward looked after me particularly well, and I went to surgery that afternoon under Mr Torkington and his team. Thanks are also due to the anaesthetic team, plus reception, theatre and recovery staff for their efforts, of which I have limited memory of. I was discharged later that evening, with thanks to Natasha’s for her efforts in facilitating that. I have had 3 reviews with the nurse specialist at outpatient clinic who have helped to get my wrist back in working order. I am please to report I am now back to my usual activities, back to work and continuing to see improvement in the strength of the joint. Every individual I have met has provided me with excellent care and attention, for which I am very grateful and would ask that my thanks are passed on
