I first started going to therapy in January 2019. I was really nervous when starting it as I didn't know what to expect but my anxiety and depression got to the point where I knew I needed help. My therapist made me feel really welcome and comfortable each time and I am really glad I went now. Today was my last therapy session and I am so proud of myself for going and I am really grateful for the help. I went from feeling extremely low and being suicidal to being happy and knowing more about how to control my emotions. I still get down days which is normal but now I know how to control it and I no longer think about ending my life or think that it would be a good thing for me. My mentality has definitely changed as now I know the negative emotions will pass and next day will be better. My social anxiety has also improved quite a bit as I was never able to speak in my lectures and would regularly avoid going (my attendance was 33%), now I am able to speak up in class and show up to my lectures. I would like to thank my therapist and the service for all of the help they have provided me as I know I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own and would definitely recommend therapy to people going through depression or anxiety even if they are extremely nervous about going. The staff are very nice and friendly and won't judge you no matter what you talk about so it is really useful.
